Comp cards are mandatory. Learn how to build it stronger with guidance and support. Or, have it done for you.

Your First Step: Comp Cards

The essential tool every model carries—from first audition to elite runways.

What is a Comp Card?

A comp card (composite card) is your visual résumé in the fashion world. It introduces you with a polished headshot, a selection of 3–4 variety images, and your key stats such as height, measurements, and contact details.

FOR
BEGINNERS

For beginners, it’s the simplest way to make a professional impression at castings.

FOR EXPERIENCED MODELS

For experienced models, it’s an indispensable calling card that keeps you memorable to agencies and clients.

I have no professional pictures—can I still make one?

Beginners

Yes. While professional photos are recommended, you can begin with clean, well-lit photos that show your face clearly (headshot) and your full body. Natural light and simple clothing work best until you’re ready for professional shoots.

For beginners, the value of a comp card is confidence: it gives you something tangible to present, showing casting directors you’re serious about starting your journey.

Developing Models

As you gain experience, your comp card should evolve with you. This means replacing starter images with professional test shoots, updating your stats regularly, and adding variety—showing different looks, poses, and moods.

The value here is credibility: your card reflects growth and professionalism, making you more competitive for castings.

Working Professionals

At this stage, your comp card becomes a brand piece. High-quality editorial shots, runway images, and collaboration photos with stylists or designers demonstrate your versatility.

The value is memorability: your comp card distinguishes you in a stack, reminding clients of your range and consistency.

Elite Models

For elite and agency-represented talent, comp cards are often curated by managers to highlight signature looks or align with brand campaigns. They are sleek, minimalist, and tailored to specific markets (fashion, commercial, fitness, etc.).

The value here is positioning: your comp card aligns with your niche and ensures you are seen as a leader in your category.
